NBC Pulls ‘1600 Penn’ Next Week In Favor Of An Hour Long ‘The Office’

NBC has issued a press release with an update to their current schedule in which they have pulled next week’s new episode of ‘1600 Penn’ and replaced it with a bonus episode of ‘The Office’.  NBC hasn’t commented on whether this is simply a one week occurrence or if ‘1600 Penn’ is in danger of being pulled permanently.  Continue on after the jump to check out the full press release. With the fourth season of Community right around the corner, set to debut in February taking over 30 Rock’s time slot, news has apparently spread across every corner of the web that Chevy Chase won’t be returning if the show continues it’s run past the upcoming season, nor will he appear in the final episodes yet to shoot for season four. For the first time in almost a decade (nine years to be precise) NBC has won the November sweep.  I believe NBC made a very wise move in attempting to hook people in early before the other networks had a chance to do their part.  With the seasons biggest new show ‘Revolution’ (pictured above) and the mid-August premieres of particular shows such as the second season of ‘Grimm’ NBC took a chance, threw their cards on the table and it all ended up being worthwhile.
