Synopsis:

Set in the eerie town of Crystal Cove – “the most haunted place on Earth” – this well-crafted series weaves traditional monster-of-the-week thrills into an overarching mystery filled with secrets, mythology, and unexpected twists.

Across two groundbreaking seasons, the gang faces sinister new villains, uncovers buried histories, and confronts startling revelations that challenge their friendships and their understanding of Crystal Cove itself. With sharp humor, dark storytelling, and deeper character arcs, Mystery Incorporated delivers a Scooby-Doo experience unlike any before – while remaining true to the humor and hijinks fans that have delighted Scooby’s fans for generations. Featuring all fifty-two episodes from both seasons, this complete series 6-disc set is a must have for Scooby-Doo™ fans and animation enthusiast alike, beautifully presented in High Definition for the series’ Blu-ray debut.

‘Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated’ joins Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby as they are pulled into a complex mystery that revolves around the history of their local town Crystal Cove and spans generations of similar groups of teens. Spanning a larger story over the show’s two-season run, it takes viewers on an adventure with the gang like you’ve never experienced before as the mass of various villains and masked attackers each only each connect to a bigger mystery that will take more from the team than ever before if they hope to get to the bottom of it, while repeatedly testing their unique bond.

‘Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated’ was developed for television by Mitch Watson, Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone. The voice cast of the series includes Frank Welker, Mindy Cohn, Grey DeLisle and Matthew Lillard as the mystery incorporated gang, along with numerous noteworthy guest, regular and recurring roles utilizing the voice talents of Patrick Warburton, Gary Cole, Vivica A. Fox, Lewis Black, Kate Higgins, Udo Kier, Frances Conroy, Tia Carrere, Tim Matheson, Linda Cardellini and many more, with nearly all contributing in a positive way to this marvelous ride.

‘Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated’ first debuted on Cartoon Network in 2010 and ran for a total of 52 episodes across two seasons before concluding in 2013. It’s a thoroughly marvelous and unique series that finds a perfect balance of staying true to the origins and elements of the original Scooby shows and an ongoing bigger mystery that expands well beyond the typical Scooby show in the best way possible. It ends up being a much darker series that dares to go to some more unpleasant places than these shows often do, while still keeping it from ever being blatantly violent or troublesome so that kids can enjoy it along with the adults who are sure to find something special in this one if you haven’t ever had the pleasure.

Not only does Mystery Inc. offer an ongoing storyline that continues throughout the entire 52 episode run, but it does so in a manner that keeps viewers on their toes and never quite certain who is a friend and who might be a real threat. The series also throws some fun pop-culture references into the mix that older audiences are sure to get a kick out of such as a random family in a station wagon that’s clearly meant to be the Griswolds from the Vacation films, and even a visit into the red room from Twin Peaks. It’s a spectacular creation that dares to go to places we might not expect, all the while tying together a much bigger and more intricate mystery and still unmasking plenty of episode-to-episode baddies at the same time.

It’s time to rejoice for Scooby fans as the beloved animated series ‘Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated’ comes home on Blu-ray for the first time ever in Warner Archive’s 6-disc ‘Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated: The Complete Series’ Blu-ray set which serves up all fifty-two episodes of the show’s two-season run in gorgeous full High Definition that’s nicely boosted by lossless DTS-HD MA stereo soundtracks on each that combined have this fan-favorite series looking and sounding better than ever before. In addition to the great video and audio offerings, the set also includes a few Audio Commentaries on key episodes and some promo spots.

This 6-disc set from Warner Archive also goes all out in the packaging presentation and offers some noteworthy elements that stand out for the studio including a slipcase for the original pressings along with unique character art on each disc of the set, not to mention interior artwork on the case that includes episodes listings and more. This is a magnificent collection that will surely be a must-own for any fan of this outstanding Scooby series and even with a couple release date delays I can say that this one was well worth the wait. If you’re considering a purchase but haven’t yet secured your copy, then this stellar Blu-ray set is very highly recommended and not to be missed.

VIDEO:

The Blu-ray release of ‘Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated: The Complete Series’ features a full 1080p High Definition presentation on all 52 episodes of the animated series presented in their original 1.78:1 Aspect Ratio. The video presentations look wonderful as a whole and they offer a clean, sharp and vibrantly detailed presentation on every episode that’s absent of any noteworthy issues or faults to be located along the way. Some may notice what seems to be heavy banding on a few moments throughout, although these lines were also present on streaming and digital downloads over the years so they are almost certainly directly from the animation source and not an actual issue with the presentation here. Details for the series shine at every turn and everything looks stellar down to just about every animated line, while colors are bold, bright and gorgeous; black levels hold up capably throughout as well. Overall, these are fantastic High Definition presentations that look consistently great and should easily thrill fans.

AUDIO:

The Blu-ray release includes a 2.0 channel DTS-HD Master Audio stereo soundtrack on all 52 episodes. These stereo soundtracks are pretty spectacular in their own right and they each provide crisp, clean and well-balanced audio presentations on every episode. The dialogue, music and effects all capably share the channels without any trouble and make certain that every bit of dialogue and creepy/action related effects all remain perfectly audible and clean, while also working quite well in simulated surround mode on my receiver. Overall, these are solid 2.0 DTS-HD MA soundtracks that hold up splendidly throughout and should not disappoint.
