In Season Two, as oil rises from the Earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’s (Billy Bob Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realizes. Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Demi Moore), and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break. The Texas-sized drama is driven by a riveting cast of co-stars that includes Andy Garcia as nefarious investor Gallino, Ali Larter as Tommy’s stunning ex-wife, Angela, and Sam Elliott as Tommy’s father, T.L.

Newcomers to ‘Landman’ are encouraged to start at the beginning due to the show’s serialized nature and various continuing story elements within. You can find our review of the previous season’s Blu-ray release below!

Landman: Season One (Blu-ray Review)

Season 2 of ‘Landman’ rejoins Tommy Norris after the groundbreaking events that concluded last season as he is forced to deal with a shift in M-Tex Oil and disagreements with Cami Miller about the future of the organization as complexities and issues arise from the way it was managed prior. While trying to guide the company toward the path Cami desires, Tommy will also have to deal with the loss of a family member and the return of his father T.L. in his life as well as the new directions his children are heading as they start to build their own paths. As things become increasingly hectic it soon becomes clear that something will have to eventually give and depending on the course of events could change everything.

Created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Taylor Sheridan once again writes all ten episodes of ‘Landman’ in season two with Stephen Kay directing every episode this time and together delivering another fun, funny and memorable chapter in the saga. The second season’s cast includes Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, Colm Feore and Sam Elliott, along with more including many notable guest and recurring stars, and just about everyone offers capable and fitting performances that continue to help this show work so well.

‘Landman: Season Two’ is a rewarding sophomore run for the promising Texas based oil series from Taylor Sheridan that expands upon the characters and the various connecting relationships as things take an unexpected turn for the business that Tommy works for as a new head of the company shakes things up causing plenty of new hurdles, while Tommy is also forced to deal with the loss of his mother and the shaky relationship he shares with his father T.L. who unexpectedly becomes a daily part of his life after so many years. The new season has everything fans of the previous one desire, with plenty of humor, twists and a great deal of heart. ‘Landman’ has a knack for keeping you laughing while never being entirely sure of what might be coming and if anything this season doubles down on that, and more often than not with rewarding results.

The new season of ‘Landman’ sees the majority of key cast members from the show’s debut season return with some in substantially bigger roles like Demi Moore, while also offering a nice collection of fresh stars to the mix such as Andy Garcia returning as a regular following his brief appearance last year, along with the always outstanding Sam Elliott as Tommy’s father and more which all only help to make this season all the more enjoyable and noteworthy, and of course many of them offering Tommy plenty of fresh headaches to deal with.
