Not only does the latest batch feature plenty of cartoons with such iconic Looney Tunes characters as Bugs, Daffy, Porky Pig and more, but also features some of the earliest toons including the very first Looney Tunes short ‘Sinkin’ in the Bathtub’ with Bosko and the first ever Merrie Melodies offering. So gather your fellow Looney Tunes lovers and secure your favorite seat on the couch or recliner for another hilarious and memorable batch of cartoons that you won’t want to miss.

‘Looney Tunes Collector’s Vault Volume 3’ offers up a marvelous collection of classic cartoons and features some truly rare gems within, not to mention the very first ever Looney Tunes cartoon with Bosko which is a treat all its own. While some of the more iconic characters are absent this time around such as Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, rest assured that plenty of your favorites are still prominently featured including everyone from Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam to Foghorn Leghorn, Bosko, Sylvester and Tweety and even Pepe LePew, along with plenty more including some standalone gems from the ‘30s and ‘40s and various other fun surprises. It might just be one of the best installments yet in the Collector’s Vault lineup and one that any diehard fan certainly won’t want to overlook.

‘Looney Tunes Collector’s Vault Volume 3’ features 50 additional cartoons this time around with many from the earlier days including many that were reportedly highly requested; including such gems this time as the very first Looney Tunes short (Sinkin’ in the Bathtub) and the first Merrie Melodies entry (Lady, Play Your Mandolin!). I’ve included a list of the cartoons included on each disc below for those who would like a better idea of what’s featured as well as those who might be hunting for their personal favorite.

Disc 2 features the following 25 cartoons: Ballot Box Bunny, Boobs In The Woods, Booby Hatched, Case of the Missing Hare, Conrad the Sailor, Daffy – The Commando, Duck Soup to Nuts, Fox-Terror, Foxy By Proxy, Fresh Airedale, Goldimouse and the Three Cats, Herr Meets Hare, Holiday for Shoestrings, Hollywood Daffy, I Got Plenty of Mutton, Mississippi Hare, Mutiny on the Bunny, My Favorite Duck, Pizzicato Pussycat, Puss N’ Booty, Rabbit’s Kin, Really Scent, Stage Door Cartoon, A Star Is Bored, and The Windblown Hare.

Overall, ‘Looney Tunes Collector’s Vault Volume 3’ is another carefully crafted and rewarding collection of beloved animated shorts that should have fans incredibly excited. The 2-disc Blu-ray set also delivers terrific full High Definition video presentations for each cartoon that’s paired with very solid dual-mono DTS-HD MA soundtracks and they have each of the included shorts looking and sounding spectacular. The set also features a few cartoons on the second disc which include optional commentary with animation experts. If you’re dedicated fan of the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies offerings and especially if you’ve already been collecting these Blu-ray releases, then ‘Looney Tunes Collector’s Vault Volume 3’ is highly recommended and will surely be a must own for your collection.

VIDEO:

The Blu-ray release of ‘Looney Tunes Collector’s Vault Volume 3’ features a full 1080p High Definition presentation on all 50 animated shorts newly remastered and presented in their original 1.37:1 Aspect Ratio. The video presentations look spectacular altogether and offer clean, sharp and filmic presentations on just about every animated short with great coloring throughout. There is a mild shift in the presentation of certain cartoons but none look anywhere close to problematic, while some are notably sharper and more vibrant, others retain more grain and artifacts yet never in a way that negatively impact the presentation and not a single included cartoon looked bad by any means. Overall, these are great High Definition presentations for every included cartoon that should have fans very satisfied.

AUDIO:

The Blu-ray release includes a 2.0 dual mono DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack on all 50 included shorts. These dual mono DTS-HD MA soundtracks are awfully nice themselves and they provide clean, sharp and problem-free audio presentations for each of the included cartoons. They do a nice job of sharing the channel and ensuring that everything from dialogue to music and effects remain clean and sharp, never allowing any simultaneously occurring audio elements to clash or negatively impact one another along the way. Overall, these are very solid 2.0 DTS-HD MA dual-mono soundtracks that do their job well and shouldn’t elicit any complaints.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

The Blu-ray release of ‘Looney Tunes Collector’s Vault Volume 3’ features optional Audio Commentary by animation experts on five of the included shorts on Disc 2. Included is “Herr Meets Hare” with Commentary by Greg Ford, “Mississippi Hare” with Commentary by Eric Goldberg, “My Favorite Duck” with Commentary by Jerry Beck, “Case of the Missing Hare” with Commentary by Greg Ford, and “Fresh Airedale” with Commentary by Greg Ford.
