Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios have officially announced their physical release for ‘American Fiction’ directed by Cord Jefferson and starring Jeffrey Wright. The film will be available to own on Blu-ray beginning June 18, 2024. Burbank, CA, April 24 – The critically acclaimed, American Fiction, from Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures, will be available for purchase on Blu-ray on June 18.
Written for the screen and directed by Academy Award® winner Cord Jefferson (TV’s “Watchmen”), the film is produced by Ben LeClair, p.g.a., Nikos Karamigios, p.g.a., Cord Jefferson, p.g.a., and Jermaine Johnson, p.g.a. ABOUT THE FILM:
American Fiction is Cord Jefferson’s hilarious directorial debut, which confronts our culture’s obsession with reducing people to outrageous stereotypes. Jeffrey Wright stars as Monk, a frustrated novelist who’s fed up with the establishment profiting from “Black” entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, Monk uses a pen name to write an outlandish “Black” book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.
