Welcome back to another new installment of our weekly ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20 List’ posts where we continue to keep you informed on all of the most popular movies and television shows watched at home every week, always compiled and released by the Digital Entertainment Group. This week’s new ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20 List’ for April 29, 2021 (compiled of data for the week ended 04.24.21) once again sees ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ holding onto the top spot, while ‘Promising Young Woman’ moves up to second this week from its place in third last week following some awards attention. Meanwhile ‘News of the World’ falls into third this week followed by ‘The Croods: A New Age’ which holds steady in fourth and ‘City of Lies’ moves into fifth (up from its place at seventh last week) to round out the top five. This week’s list also sees a new new additions, including the multi-Oscar winning ‘Nomadland’ (which you can also read our Blu-ray review of HERE) which debuts on the list in eleventh, and the thriller ‘The Little Things’ which arrives in ninth. IS NEW THIS WEEK ON
DEG’S ‘WATCHED AT HOME TOP 20’
On the heels of big Oscar wins for Best Picture, Director and Actress Nomadland entered the chart at No. 11 and Best Original Screenplay Oscar winner Promising Young Woman moved up a slot to No. 2, while Wonder Woman 1984 remains at the top for the fourth week in a row on DEG’s ‘Watched at Home Top 20’. Crime drama The Little Things is also new this week coming in at No. 9 following an April 20 digital release. Yellowstone S2 returns to the top 20 bringing all three seasons of this popular TV series back to the chart.
DEG compiles the ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list with the most widely consumed titles on disc and digital during the previous week (except for outside subscription-based streaming platforms). Assembled with the newest studio and retailer data every seven days, it showcases current consumer enthusiasm for home viewing of the newest film and television releases.
