USA Network has now officially cancelled ‘The Purge’ and ‘Treadstone’ series, both of which were based upon blockbuster Universal film franchises (‘The Purge’ and ‘Jason Bourne’ respectively).

The cancellations which were first reported by Deadline come after two seasons of ‘The Purge’ and one season of ‘Treadstone’, neither of which will be returning to USA Network. In addition to disappointing viewership numbers, it sounds like the cancellations were also victims of a new programming approach for the cable network.
