Synopsis:

A year has passed since the dark eclipse transformed hard-drinking Officer Lou Garou (Leo Fafard) into the infamous lycanthrope crime-fighter. Although the evil that controlled Woodhaven was defeated, the community is far from returning to normal. A villainous entrepreneur (Yannick Bisson) is looking to open a new brewery and revive the local hockey team, but it’s clear he has ulterior motives. With a new mayor (Kevin Smith) and the new chief of police (Amy Matysio), WolfCop has his work cut out for him when he has to save the town all over again.

‘Another Wolfcop’ returns viewers to the world of Lou Garou (Fafard) aka the Wolfcop one year after the dark eclipse that changed everything. Now trying to adapt to his new way of life, Lou is largely stuck in a rut, getting wasted and sneaking out to take apart random crooks against the insistence of his longtime partner (and now head of the department). But when a conniving and dangerous business tycoon sets a deadly plan in motion with massive consequences for his town, Lou must leap out of the shadows and into action, embracing the Wolfcop once more in order to try and stop this powerful new foe before it’s too late. Get ready for another over the top, blood drenched and laugh filled good time with everyone’s favorite werewolf with a badge!

Once again written and directed by Lowell Dean who also wrote and directed the first film, Dean does a great job back at the helm of ‘Another Wolfcop’ once again guiding the goofy, blood soaked fun along splendidly. The sequel includes a cast comprised of many returning individuals from the first film, in addition to a number of newcomers and includes Leo Fafard (Wolfcop), Yannick Bisson (TV’s Murdoch Mysteries), Amy Matysio (TV’s Save Me), Serena Miller (Separation Anxiety), Devery Jacobs (TV’s Cardinal), Jonathan Cherry (Goon) and the always amusing Kevin Smith (Clerks) along with more, nearly all providing pretty solid and fitting performances in each of their respective roles.

‘Another Wolfcop’ is another delightfully over the top helping of gore-drenched 80’s era B-movie fun that effortlessly pulls us back into the goofy and ever amusing world of Lou aka the Wolfcop and his colorful friends and associates as they tackle a dangerous new threat. It matches the tone and overall goofy nature of the original while still making certain to follow those standard sequel protocols such as upping the gore levels and craziness this time around; even kicking off the sequel with a fitting action sequence featuring our hairy hero taking apart a group of crooks in a moving truck which sets the mood perfectly. Writer and director Lowell Dean who also wrote and directed the first film once again does a fantastic job at the helm of ‘Another Wolfcop’ and his guidance is only further complimented by a solid cast that includes plenty of returning folks along with a few newcomers. I would strongly encourage fans of similar goofy and over the top films that embrace that memorable 80’s style to give the ‘Wolfcop’ flicks a shot at some point if you haven’t yet had the pleasure, they’re ridiculously fun, gory and hilarious, while still somewhat clever in their ability to make this exaggerated silliness work so splendidly. Fellow fans of the first ‘Wolfcop’ movie naturally won’t want to even consider missing out on this crazier, gorier sequel that has no trouble once again delivering the goods.

Overall, ‘Another Wolfcop’ is another bloody, hilarious and just plain ridiculous good time once again fueled by a splendidly silly and grin inducing 80’s aura. It may not be superior to its predecessor, but it largely holds up where it counts and comes together into a pretty wonderful, wild and fan pleasing sequel that shouldn’t disappoint fellow lovers of the first ‘Wolfcop’ film. With writer and director Lowell Dean and much of the key cast returning and helping to make this wonderfully absurd good time truly feel like returning to visit some old friends, while also upping the ante in the gore department and overall goofiness. ‘Another Wolfcop’ is definitely recommended for anyone that appreciated, enjoyed or utterly loved the first film and fellow fans shouldn’t find themselves at all disappointed when coughing up the money for the cost of a rental, or possibly even a blind purchase at the right price.
