As the flood of TV renewals and cancellations have begun coming in with the network upfronts right around the corner, ABC has made final decisions on two of their long running sitcoms. ‘Modern Family’ has been granted a two season renewal following some contract closures, while the Tim Allen starring comedy ‘Last Man Standing’ has now been officially cancelled by the network.
While it should come as no surprise regarding its popularity on the network, following some contract renewals with the key cast, ABC has officially renewed ‘Modern Family’ for 2 more seasons, guaranteeing its run through Season 10.
The Tim Allen starring comedy ‘Last Man Standing’ on the other hand wasn’t so lucky and has now officially been given the ax, likely due at least in part to the conflicts regarding production between Fox who owns the series and ABC who airs it, along with its pricey production resulting at least partly from Allen’s notable pay. Nonetheless, for fellow fans of the sweet and amusing series, the season 6 finale which aired last month will now serve as its Series Finale as well.
