Amazon MGM Studios and Alliance Entertainment have announced physical releases for the first two seasons of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’. Season 1 and 2 will each be available separately on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD beginning November 3, 2026. Amazon Exclusive Limited Edition 4K Steelbook editions will also be released on December 1.

September 8, 2026 – New York, NY – Amazon MGM Studios and Alliance Home Entertainment announce the home video release of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power – Season 1 and Season 2.  Both seasons of the epic series, set in the fabled Second Age of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth, will be available as 4-disc 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™ and DVD sets on November 3 and as a limited edition 4K UHD SteelBook December 1.

 

Season 1 of The Rings of Power made its debut on Prime Video in September 2022, followed by the Season 2 premiere in August 2024. The award-winning series is one of the highest performing and most-viewed titles ever on Prime Video, with over 185 million viewers worldwide to date.

 

Set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, this epic drama follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth™. Season 1 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was led by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay. They were joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, J.A. Bayona, Belén Atienza, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill, Gennifer Hutchison, Bruce Richmond, and Sharon Tal Yguado, and producers Ron Ames and Christopher Newman. Wayne Che Yip was co-executive producer and directed along with J.A. Bayona and Charlotte Brändström.

 

Season 2 was produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay. They were joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill, and Gennifer Hutchison, along with co-executive producer and director Charlotte Brändström, producers Kate Hazell and Helen Shang, and co-producers Clare Buxton, Andrew Lee, Glenise Mullins, and Matthew Penry-Davey. Additional Season Two directors were Sanaa Hamri and Louise Hooper.

 

The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD releases of The Rings of Power include Behind-The-Scenes Bonus Content and will be available to watch at home on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on November 3.

 

Additionally, both seasons of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be available as Amazon exclusive 4K UHD gift sets featuring limited edition SteelBook packaging and collectible art cards, releasing December 1.
