Now you can experience the iconic tale of revenge like it was always intended in one complete epic featuring extended sequences and more bloody chaos than before.

Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino and Based on the Character of “The Bride” Created by Q & U, Tarantino does a marvelous job guiding along ‘Kill Bill’ which is now presented in its entirety, complete and unrated. The film’s noteworthy cast includes Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah and David Carradine, along with more and just about the entire cast delivers quite memorable performances in their roles that help this wonderful ride to work so spectacularly.

‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ brings the entire uncensored, unrated epic tale home as it was originally intended at last, something many fans had been clamoring for over the years and wasn’t expected to happen until recently. The Whole Bloody Affair combines Volumes 1 and 2 into one unforgettable masterpiece that alters a few elements throughout and also oddly enough alters the tone of the tale in many ways simply by allowing it to flow as one complete story without the volume one tease, as well as re-incorporating some previously removed content.

The majority of the additions within are relatively minimal although the first half provides the biggest shifts including a significantly extended version of the anime sequence chronicling the early life of O-Ren Ishii and features an additional scene and a good bit of additional blood and carnage as well, while also featuring the full-color, extended version of the House of Blue Leaves fight sequence which includes numerous new  bits throughout that were cut from the black and white edition such as a couple additional encounters with the young man she eventually swats on the rear and sends packing, plus more bloody chaos such as her throwing the removed eyeball in another character’s mouth after tearing it out and other excessive moments such as this that may not be critical but certainly add to the over the top fun of the scene. It may not be massively different in content throughout much of it, although the tone curiously feels altered for the better as a result, yet both versions work in their own right and it will be up to each individual which cut they prefer.

‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ brings the iconic fourth film from Quentin Tarantino home in its entirety with his original massive vision restored as intended courtesy of Lionsgate. The new edition features a full Ultra High Definition presentation of The Whole Bloody Affair with Dolby Vision and HDR-10 which looks very good as a whole overall and is nicely complemented by an immersive and hard-hitting DTS-HD MA multichannel soundtrack which throws you right in the middle of the bloody tale of vengeance, with the massive cut spread between two discs for optimum quality and ending with the Intermission on disc one. In addition, the release also includes the new cut on 2 Blu-ray discs, along with ‘The Lost Chapter’ animated sequence which follows Gogo’s sister Yuki as she seeks revenge against The Bride.

‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ is widely available in a standard 4K UHD + Blu-ray release from Lionsgate which was the version that was sent over for review and it can be found at most if not all major retailers. The new edition is also available in a far more intricate and collectible edition available exclusively from Lionsgate Limited which includes Deluxe collectible packaging with unique artwork and numerous notable physical items packed within which may be the version the diehard fans and collectors would prefer if you afford to drop the money on it. Either way, if you’re a fan of ‘Kill Bill’ that would love to own The Whole Bloody Affair in 4K then the release is highly recommended, although which version to pick up will be up to personal preference.

The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ features a full 2160p Ultra High Definition presentation with Dolby Vision and HDR-10, presented in its original 2.40:1 Aspect Ratio and split between two discs. The video presentation is largely similar to the presentations of the individual Volume releases from last year and it provides a fairly clean, sharp and colorful presentation throughout that retains some grain and other welcome aspects of its film source and benefits from the Dolby Vision HDR which fine tunes many of the bright vivid colors along the way and deepens the black levels. Detail is largely great on characters, fight scenes and everything else, although there is a softness noticeable at times throughout that provides an almost blurred or smudged appearance on a handful of shots. Overall, this is a mostly very solid Ultra High Definition presentation that should please any diehard fans that have been anxiously awaiting a release of The Whole Bloody Affair all these years.

AUDIO:

The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release features a 5.1 channel DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack. This multichannel soundtrack serves up a crisp, clean and consistently aggressive audio presentation that immerses you in the bloody chaos and fun throughout. It repeatedly takes advantage of all five available channels to send music, fight sequences and blood spraying, plus crowd noise and plenty more whipping throughout the various speakers regularly and always ensuring that any dialogue or other audio elements that might be occurring simultaneously remain clean and fully audible at every turn. Overall, this is a wonderful 5.1 DTS-HD MA soundtrack that never disappoints and contributes plenty of additional fun to the viewing experience.
