fallout season 2, 4k ultra hd review

The second season of ‘Fallout’ rejoins the odd collection of potential heroes we met in the debut season as Lucy, Maximus and The Ghoul embark upon a new set of dangerous adventures; this time following Lucy and The Ghoul into the deadly world of New Vegas as they once again attempt to try and track down her father following the wild debut season finale. Meanwhile, Maximus reunites with the brotherhood and tries to accept his role within their world albeit repeatedly doubting it as things become more combative and troubling within the ranks. At the same time the vault dwellers start to clash leading to a split between them and more secrets to be unveiled.

‘Fallout’ was created for television by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner who additionally serve as executive producers and showrunners once again for season two. The cast of season two includes numerous new and returning individuals including Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias and Frances Turner, along with Justin Theroux, Dave Register, Johnny Pemberton, Leslie Uggams and Annabel O’Hagan, and some notable guest spots by Macaulay Culkin, Kumail Nanjiani, Clancy Brown and more, with just about everyone doing their part to help keep this fun series from losing its way.

Season 2 of ‘Fallout’ invites viewers back into the deadly and uncertain world of the wasteland for another tense, brutal, humorous and thoroughly exciting batch of adventures that takes things from the desolate remains of LA to the violent chaos of New Vegas and beyond. It allows the storylines for each of our key characters to become better fleshed out now that we’ve spent a season getting familiar with them, as some of the more brutal and uncaring individuals start to show a more emotional and caring side as others with good intentions are forced to delve further into darkness if they hope to survive this dangerous environment. Packed with some outstanding and visually spectacular showdowns, landscapes and a handful of new threats and allies on hand from monster to human, this show still delivers the goods and season two is another massively enjoyable ride that’s certainly worth taking.

I may not be a big gamer by any means and therefore I admittedly have very minimal knowledge regarding the game in which this series is based on, but I can certainly say that the series itself is an absolute blast that’s packed with humor, heart and plenty of twisted, darkly comedic fun that will keep you glued to the screen and guessing along the way. If you haven’t had the opportunity to give ‘Fallout’ a whirl but appreciate similar dark sci-fi fantasy films and shows then this one is not to be missed and is definitely worth going out of your way to check out. For those that merely haven’t had a chance to catch up on season two, it’s another tremendously fun and altogether very solid run that expands the world in some great ways and always keeps the crazy fun coming with ease.
