Lionsgate has officially announced that they will release the modern day Western ‘Americana’ directed by Tony Tost and starring Sydney Sweeney and Paul Walter Hauser at home to rent and own on Digital. The film will be available digitally beginning September 16, 2025.

SANTA MONICA, CA (September 9, 2025) – Outsiders and outcasts turn on each other in modern-day western AMERICANA, arriving on Premium Digital and Premium Video on Demand beginning September 16 from Lionsgate. Produced by Alex Saks (It Ends with Us, No Hard Feelings), AMERICANA is Tony Tost’s (writer for TV’s “Poker Face,” “Longmire”) directorial debut, where a small town in South Dakota erupts into crime and bloodshed.

A gallery of dynamic characters clash over the possession of a rare Native American artifact in this wildly entertaining modern-day western. After the artifact falls onto the black market, a shy waitress with big dreams (Sydney Sweeney) teams up with a lovelorn military veteran (Paul Walter Hauser) to gain possession of it, putting them in the crosshairs of a ruthless criminal (Eric Dane) working on behalf of a Western antiquities dealer (Simon Rex). Bloodshed ensues when others join the battle, including the leader of an Indigenous group (Zahn McClarnon) and a desperate woman fleeing her mysterious past (Halsey).

Featuring a diverse and awarded ensemble, including Sydney Sweeney (TV’s “Euphoria”), Paul Walter Hauser (TV’s “Black Bird”), Halsey (MaXXXine), Simon Rex (Red Rocket), Eric Dane (TV’s “Grey’s Anatomy”), and Zahn McClarnon (TV’s “Fargo”). Written and directed by Tony Tost.
