Season two of ‘Tulsa King’ rejoins Dwight “The General” Manfredi following the first season’s shocking conclusion which saw him arrested for the attempted bribery of a federal agent. The second season focuses on Dwight’s attempt to beat out the accusation while still trying to build his business in Tulsa now that he has begun to get a better idea of the world he’s currently living in. But when Dwight and his crew attract the attention of two local heavy hitters it starts a new conflict that could lead to a brutal war as each side is unaware of who is making what moves, soon resulting in unjustified retaliations and more headaches for the General’s business and those close to him. Meanwhile, New York begins to try and make some fresh moves while dealing with uncertainty within.

Season 2 of ‘Tulsa King’ delivers another fun, violent and humorous collection of episodes that see the General and his team continuing to try and expand their reach of the area to tense, violent and even occasionally heartbreaking results. Packed with all of the humor and excitement that was introduced in its debut season, the show’s sophomore run also does a decent job of upping the stakes to a degree, something that was one of the first season’s few negative elements. While things don’t always get outright chaotic and most of the characters seem to still find a way through the more uncertain moments, it does offer a few shocks and surprises this time around and also does a solid job of building on other areas including Dwight’s relationship with his daughter and grandsons, not to mention tackling two new threats in the way of a wealthy local man who primarily runs the medical marijuana game in town, as well as a local mob boss who gets pulled into the mix to challenge Dwight and kicks off a series of back and forth showdowns and attacks between the two newly warring groups.

Season 2 even marks a slight improvement over the first season which was a blast in its own right and it’s a real treat to see this series continue to build into something quite special. Series lead Sylvester Stallone reprises his role as Dwight, while additional series regulars including Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Vincent Piazza, Tatiana Zappardino, Annabella Sciorra, Domenick Lombardozzi, Andrea Savage, Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany each also return for season two, although a couple in a lesser capacity this time around. The second season also features notable newcomers in Neal McDonough and Frank Grillo who make tremendous additions to the show as two new and significant rivals for Dwight and his crew to take on.
