Some unfortunate, yet not entirely unexpected news today for fans of the DC series ‘Stargirl’ as The CW has now revealed that the show will be ending after the currently airing third season.
The cancellation of the series arrives midway through the show’s third season which is currently airing on The CW and not long after Nexstar Media Group finalized its acquisition of the network. The cancellation isn’t entirely unexpected with many of the other DC series on the network having already been cancelled or renewed for a final season.
The team behind ‘Stargirl’ was reportedly given advance notice that the current season might be its last and they have promised a fitting ending to the series with Season 3.
Season 3 of ‘DC’s Stargirl’ will continue airing its third season and the season three finale which is set to air on December 7, 2022 will now also serve as the series finale.
‘Stargirl’ was created for television by Geoff Johns (who also created the comics character inspired by his late sister) and stars Brec Bassinger as the lead hero.
