Starring Larry David as an over-the-top version of himself, the iconic Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm offers a tongue-in-cheek depiction of the writer/producer/comedian’s fictionalized life. With Jeff Garlin (as manager Jeff Greene), Susie Essman (as Jeff’s wife Susie), Cheryl Hines (as Larry’s ex-wife Cheryl), JB Smoove (as Leon), and Richard Lewis and Ted Danson (as themselves), all reprising their roles alongside a rotating cast of familiar faces, including Vince Vaughn (as Freddy Funkhouser) and Tracey Ullman (as Irma Kostroski), Season 11 finds Larry once again seeking and dispensing his own peculiar brand of social justice.

Larry David is back in Season 11 of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ which finds David getting caught up in a whole new set of hilarious predicaments, encounters and anger inducing ridiculousness. This time around Larry is working on creating a new television series about his life as a child growing up. Quickly finding companies interested in producing the series, it soon turns troublesome when Larry is blackmailed and forced to hire a young woman with no acting experience to star as a lead in the series. All revolving around a mishap with a potential robber on his property that went bad due to the absence of a fence around his pool, Larry eventually realizes that things will only continue getting worse unless he’s able to find a way of changing the law and removing the threat altogether.

Season 11 of HBO’s marvelous comedy series ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ serves up another wildly hilarious batch of episodes that find the conflict-destined Larry David (portraying a hilariously tongue-in-cheek version of himself like always) having no trouble getting into plenty of new, uncomfortable scenarios yet again as he continues to speak his mind about… well, everything. It’s sometimes hard to believe that it’s been over two decades since ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ made its debut on HBO and even after it took a multi-year hiatus some years back it returned in full form; possibly even better than ever. Season 11 is another magnificent run for the comedy series and it still remains one of the funniest shows on television, with the latest season only proving without a doubt once again that David and this series definitely haven’t lost their touch.

In addition to Larry David, the new season also features other series regulars Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, JB Smoove and Cheryl Hines returning with each as solid and funny as ever. Season 11 naturally also includes another noteworthy collection of guest stars including Tracey Ullman, Vince Vaughn, Albert Brooks, Jon Hamm, Lucy Liu, Dylan O’Brien, Ted Danson, Patton Oswalt, Woody Harrelson, Josh Gad, Julie Bowen, Seth Rogen, Bill Hader and Richard Lewis along with more this time around who all only help to contribute beautifully to the hilarity on hand. If you’re a fan of the series but haven’t yet had a chance to check out the latest season then I would strongly encourage making the time to do so and get ready to laugh yourself silly.

Overall, Season 11 of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ is another fresh, clever and ridiculously funny collection of episodes that fans will almost surely have a lot of fun (and laughs) revisiting. If you enjoy the series but haven’t watched the latest season yet, then I would definitely recommend doing so. It’s another magnificent run of the outstanding comedy series that you won’t want to miss out on. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s 2-disc DVD release of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete Eleventh Season’ in particular brings home all ten episodes of the new season on DVD with very decent standard definition video presentations and Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks that deliver quite well within the confines of the DVD format. The set doesn’t include any bonus content, but anyone that has been collecting the series on DVD will probably at least be more than pleased with the video and audio quality of this altogether solid DVD release.

VIDEO:

The DVD release of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete Eleventh Season’ features a 16×9 friendly standard definition video presentation with the show’s original 1.78:1 Aspect Ratio on all of the eleventh season’s episodes. The video presentations look pretty good and deliver nicely within the confines of the DVD format. They provide clean, smooth and well detailed presentations on every episode without any unexpected faults or troubles arising throughout. Overall, these are solid standard definition video presentations that shouldn’t disappoint any fans of the series that have been collecting (and are satisfied with) the previous season DVD releases.

AUDIO:

The DVD release includes a 384 Kbps 5.1 channel Dolby Digital soundtrack on all 10 Season Eleven episodes. These multichannel soundtracks offer clean, crisp and well balanced audio presentations on every episode of the new season. They occasionally utilize all five available channels in order to send some music and other fitting effects and activity throughout the various speakers when appropriate, although much of this dialogue-centric series is unsurprisingly relegated to the center channel and it all sounds clean and fully audible every step of the way; never allowing simultaneously occurring effects and activity to clash with one another. Overall, these are fully capable 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtracks that do their job well and should please viewers.
