Great news for fans of ‘The Goldbergs’ as ABC has renewed the popular 80’s centered sitcom for Season 10.

The renewal for a tenth season of ‘The Goldbergs’ isn’t terribly surprising considering the series has proved a powerful ratings provider for ABC and following a recent news story from Deadline that star Wendi Mclendon-Covey had signed a new contract, although anything could have happened following the shakeup and subsequent departure of Jeff Garlin earlier in the season.

The renewal also means that ‘The Goldbergs’ will join the rare group of network comedy series to achieve that double digit season mark, something that seems to be even less common these days. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that the series is also currently the longest running network comedy series on the air.
