Rick and Morty is the multi-Emmy® Award winning half-hour comedy series that airs on Adult Swim, the #1 destination for young adults for over a decade. The half-hour animated Adult Swim hit comedy series follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Rick Sanchez is living with his daughter Beth’s family and constantly bringing her, his son-in-law Jerry, granddaughter Summer, and grandson Morty into intergalactic escapades. Rick and Morty was the #1 comedy across all of television in 2017 and 2019 and has become a multi-platform sensation not just on television, but across digital, gaming, live streaming, retail, and fan experiences.

Please Note: Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Post. The opinions I share are my own.

[Blu-Ray Review] ‘Rick And Morty: Season 5’; Now Available On Blu-ray & DVD From Warner Bros 2

Season 5 of ‘Rick and Morty’ delivers another hilarious, over the top and just ridiculously entertaining batch of episodes with our favorite odd pair of grandfather and kid, while at the same time delving deeper into the roots of these characters than they ever have previously in many ways. It’s hard not to appreciate just how off the wall this show is at every turn and just how capably the writers repeatedly find clever ways to take it to ridiculously silly yet no less entertaining and fitting places every season. Just when you think they can’t top themselves another batch of episodes comes around and does just that. Perhaps most surprising of all are the emotional moments that arise sporadically throughout the latest season such as the episode focusing on Rick and his relationship with Bird Man which can be as sweet as it is hilarious and goofy. Season 5 certainly proves without a doubt that this adult animated series hasn’t come anywhere close to losing its charm or ability to simultaneously surprise us while making us cringe and one can only begin to fathom just where Season 6 might take us. Fans of the series that haven’t yet had a chance to check out the latest season will definitely want to make a point of doing so whenever possible. It’s another fun, clever and hilarious batch of misadventures that you won’t want to miss out on, now on Blu-ray with all of the fully uncensored audio and fun intact.

The Blu-ray release of ‘Rick and Morty: Season 5’ features a full 1080p High Definition presentation with the show’s original 1.78:1 Aspect Ratio on all of the fifth season’s episodes. The video presentations look magnificent as a whole and deliver clean, sharp, beautifully colored and richly detailed presentations from start to finish on each episode.
