DEG Watched At Home Top 20 List For 12/23/21: Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Spider-Man: Far From Home 1Welcome back to another new installment of our weekly ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20’ list posts where we continue to keep you updated each week with the most popular movies and television shows watched at home, always compiled and released by the Digital Entertainment Group. It should also be noted that this will be the final DEG post of the year as the next Top 20 will arrive on January 03, 2022 due to Holiday reporting delays.

This week’s new ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20’ list for December 23, 2021 (compiled of data for the week ended 12.18.21) sees ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage‘ reclaim the top spot, up four spots from last week. Meanwhile, last week’s top title, the 2000 live-action ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas’ slips into second this week, followed by Illumination’s animated ‘The Grinch‘ film which also falls one place into third. ‘Yellowstone: Season 4’ continues to stay strong and only slips one spot itself to take fourth this week, while ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ takes fifth to round out the top five this week as ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ continues to do big business at the box office. ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Venom’

Move Up Pre-Holiday Chart

Spider-Man: Far From Home catapulted from No. 19 all the way to No. 5, and Spider-Man: Homecoming joined the chart, on interest around the theatrical release of next franchise installment Spider-Man: No Way Homewhich took in more than $250 million in opening weekend box-office. Venom: Let There Be Carnage slithered over two green Grinches to reclaim the No. 1 spot last week, even as holiday titles continued their strong showing. How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Grinch were Nos. 2 and 3, with Elf and The Polar Express also in the Top 10. New rom-com The Hating Game joined the chart at No. 17.

DEG compiles the ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list with the most widely consumed titles on disc and digital during the previous week (except for outside subscription-based streaming platforms). Assembled with the newest studio and retailer data every seven days, it showcases current consumer enthusiasm for home viewing of the newest film and television releases.
