DEG Watched At Home Top 20 List For 12/16/21: The Grinch, Venom: Let There Be Carnage 1Welcome back to another new entry of our weekly ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20’ list posts where we keep you informed on all of the most popular movies and television shows watched at home each week, always compiled and released by the Digital Entertainment Group.

This week’s new ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20’ list for December 16, 2021 (compiled of data for the week ended 12.11.21) sees the Holiday titles starting to take over a good portion of the list. The 2000 live-action ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas’ film jumps up from its place in fourth last week to take the top spot this week, followed by Illumination’s animated ‘The Grinch‘ film in second, up from its spot in fifth last week. ‘Yellowstone: Season 4’ slips a few spots from first last week to third this time around, followed by ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage‘ which slips two spots into fourth, and Marvel’s ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ also falls two spots into fifth to round out the top five. Viewers Seek Santa

With Christmas fast approaching, the Top 20 started an early “Santa Claus Rally” of its own with How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) and The Grinch (2018) taking the top two spots. Meanwhile, Elf rose three rungs to No. 6, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation climbed four to No. 11, Polar Express gained three and Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer added his rosy light to the ranking. Spider-Man: Far From Home swung into the Top 20, propelled by anticipation for new franchise installment Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will be in theaters December 17.

DEG compiles the ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list with the most widely consumed titles on disc and digital during the previous week (except for outside subscription-based streaming platforms). Assembled with the newest studio and retailer data every seven days, it showcases current consumer enthusiasm for home viewing of the newest film and television releases.
