This week’s new ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20’ list for December 9, 2021 (compiled of data for the week ended 12.4.21) sees last week’s top two titles flip spots as ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ drops one spot into second while ‘Yellowstone: Season 4’ reclaims first. Marvel’s ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ returned all the way in third this week, while the the Grinch films hold steady in fourth and fifth (the live-action ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ in fourth and Illumination’s animated ‘The Grinch’ film in fifth) to round out the top five this week. ‘Shang-Chi’ Adds Action to

Holiday Viewing

The Watched at Home Top 20 shows on-trend entertainment lovers tempering holiday fare with action this season. While the top of the chart was mostly unchanged, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings returned with a vengeance, landing at No. 2 after its physical media release. Action fantasy The Last Duel also adds action to the chart this week, landing at No. 18, while F9: The Fast Saga continues to perform in the Top 20. Holiday favorites, meanwhile, continue to pepper the chart, with Planes, Trains and Automobiles falling off and replaced by The Polar Express.

DEG compiles the ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list with the most widely consumed titles on disc and digital during the previous week (except for outside subscription-based streaming platforms). Assembled with the newest studio and retailer data every seven days, it showcases current consumer enthusiasm for home viewing of the newest film and television releases.
