[Blu-Ray Review] Superman And Lois: The Complete First Season; Now Available On Blu-ray & DVD From DC – Warner Bros 2

The latest new series in the ever expanding Arrow-verse line up of DC Comics series on The CW, ‘Superman and Lois’ takes a more cinematic approach than many of its associated shows, showcasing some gorgeous sets, scenery and action sequences that often feel a step above what we’ve become familiar with. Perhaps even more impressive is just how much heart and soul the series brings to the table. While there’s no shortage of stellar action scenes and explosive Superman moments, it also takes plenty of time to delve into the familiar matters which is really the soul of this series when it all comes down to it. Tackling the struggles of balancing their dangerous and hectic lives with that of raising two teenage sons who just might have their own unique talents, while also exploring their struggle to step back from the lives they’ve known and how difficult that can be even with more important things occurring in their personal worlds. The great cast led by Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch in the title roles also helps to make this one work as smoothly as it does and it’s great to see both returning to the fold after their appearances in crossover events and some of the other related shows. The series also serves up some fun twists on the material most are familiar with and does a great job of crafting an extremely fun and rewarding series that clearly has a lot of potential and certainly makes for another welcome addition to the Arrow-verse family of shows.

[Blu-Ray Review] Superman And Lois: The Complete First Season; Now Available On Blu-ray & DVD From DC – Warner Bros 3

Overall, the debut season of ‘Superman and Lois’ is a fun, heartfelt and exciting batch of episodes with plenty of explosive action, but never at the cost of the show’s heart. It’s definitely a positive start to the series that shows some true promise, with Hoechlin and Tulloch offering solid portrayals of Superman and Lois Lane. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s 3-disc Blu-ray release of ‘Superman and Lois: The Complete First Season’ brings home extended versions of all fifteen episodes from the show’s debut season sporting nice high definition video and audio presentations on each, along with some entertaining bonus content. Any dedicated fans of the CW’s interconnected DC shows along with fans of this series in particular who might be considering a purchase of the release are encouraged to do so. It’s a pretty solid Blu-ray release for what looks to be a promising new addition to the Arrow-verse and the series itself is also definitely worth taking the time to check out if you haven’t yet had the pleasure.
