This week’s new ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20 List’ for April 1, 2021 (compiled of data for the week ended 03.27.21) sees the Paul Greengrass directed film ‘News of the World‘ starring Tom Hanks take first place, up all the way from its spot at thirteenth last week, meanwhile last week’s 2 top spot holders each slip one spot, with ‘The Croods: A New Age’ moving into second and ‘Monster Hunter’ into third. The Disney-Pixar film ‘Soul’ arrives on the list this week in fourth, while ‘Promising Young Woman’ falls one spot into fifth to round out the top five this week. NEWS OF THE WORLD JUMPS TO TOP SPOT ON

DEG’S “WATCHED AT HOME TOP 20”

News of the World jumped to the No. 1 spot on DEG’s “Watched at Home Top 20” chart after placing No. 13 on last week’s list. The Croods: A New Age and Monster Hunter stayed strong occupying Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. Newcomer to the chart, Soul, landed at No. 4 after becoming available on March 23.
DEG compiles the ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list with the most widely consumed titles on disc and digital during the previous week (except for outside subscription-based streaming platforms). Assembled with the newest studio and retailer data every seven days, it showcases current consumer enthusiasm for home viewing of the newest film and television releases.
