Welcome back to another new edition of our weekly ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20 List’ posts where we continue to keep you updated on all of the most popular movies and television shows watched at home each week, always compiled and released by the Digital Entertainment Group. The ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20 List’ for March 18, 2021 (compiled of data for the week ended 3.13.21) sees all of last week’s top five titles retaining their places again, with ‘The Croods: A New Age’ holding securely at first, ‘Monster Hunter’ in second, while ‘Greenland’ takes third once more, followed by ‘Girl in the Basement’ in fourth and the new ‘Wrong Turn’ film in fifth. A few new titles also show up on the list this week, including the Paul Greengrass film ‘News of the World’ starring Tom Hanks which debuted in eleventh, and the Christopher Nolan film ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ also makes an appearance in nineteenth. DEG’S “WATCHED AT HOME TOP 20”
Croods: A New Age, Monster Hunter and Greenland continue to lead the top of DEG’s ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ this week, with the only change to the top 10 being Promising Young Woman which moved up two slots to claim No. 10. The Tom Hanks western News of the World emerged on the chart, ranking No. 11 in its EST debut, while other newcomers are thrillers Crisis, Death Saved My Life, and The Dark Night Rises.
DEG compiles the ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list with the most widely consumed titles on disc and digital during the previous week (except for outside subscription-based streaming platforms). Assembled with the newest studio and retailer data every seven days, it showcases current consumer enthusiasm for home viewing of the newest film and television releases.
