Following the anticipated debut of the ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ trailer on Sunday, Warner Bros. has now pushed back the MonsterVerse showdown film’s release, but only by five days, while additionally setting a release date for the secretive James Wan directed horror film ‘Malignant’ which will debut in September.
The brief delay for ‘Godzilla vs. Kong‘ appears to be merely a slight adjustment in order to better place it near the Easter holiday. Instead of debuting on its previously announced date of March 26, 2021, it will now be released on March 31, 2021.
The studio has additionally slated ‘Malignant‘, the highly secretive new horror film directed by James Wan which was previously undated. It is now set to be released on September 10, 2021. Details about the film are still being kept under wraps, aside from the fact that it’s a return to Wan’s horror roots.
Both films will of course be released with Warner’s simultaneous theatrical/HBO Max release plan for their 2021 releases, with each being released in theaters and on HBO Max the same day and remaining on HBO Max for 31 days after the release date.
