As the pandemic continues to rage and theaters across the country remain shuttered, Sony has now once again shifted their Marvel tentpole film ‘Morbius‘ starring Jared Leto, this time to the fall.
The new release date for ‘Morbius‘ will now be October 8, 2021, pushed back from its previous delay which had it rescheduled from Summer of 2020 to March of this year. The hope is that by this Fall the vaccination rollout will be completed (or at least much further along) allowing for a more typical theatrical release.
‘Morbius‘ is directed by Daniel Espinosa and stars Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris with Tyrese Gibson. It tells the tale of Michael Morbius who suffering from a rare blood disorder and running out of time seeks out a cure which ends up being far more than he bargained for.
