DEG Watched At Home Top 20 List For 10/08/20: South Park, Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice 1Welcome back to the latest edition of our weekly ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20 List’ posts where we keep you informed on all of the most popular movies and television shows watched at home; hopefully providing some fresh ideas for your home entertainment lineup each week! As always, the list is compiled and released by the Digital Entertainment Group. This week’s new ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20 List’ for October 8, 2020 once again sees the action thriller ‘Ava’ holding the top spot, while ‘The Secret: Dare to Dream’ also retains its place in second. The third season of ‘Yellowstone’ remains at third place, while season’s 1 and 2 slip one spot each to fifth and sixth respectively as the Halloween-themed Disney classic ‘Hocus Pocus’ makes its impressive debut in fourth. The ‘Pandemic Special’ of ‘South Park’ (included on the list as S24) also arrives in the top 20 at 13th place, while some other seasonal classics also debut on the list such as ‘Bettlejuice’ and ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. HALLOWEEN CLASSICS RISE IN THE LATEST DEG “WATCHED AT HOME TOP 20” LIST

With Halloween around the corner, eerie classics are rising on DEG’s “Watched at Home Top 20” list. This week, the spooky Hocus Pocus moved up to No. 4, from No. 12, and Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas join the chart, at No. 11 and No. 16, respectively. Ava holds on to the No. 1 spot, while Alone (No. 7) and The Silencing (No. 19) return to the list, contributing to the thrills. Meanwhile, South Park: Season 24 brought another kind of scare to the chart at No. 13. The first episode of the season is “The Pandemic Special.”

DEG compiles the ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list with the most widely consumed titles on disc and digital during the previous week (except for outside subscription-based streaming platforms). Assembled with the newest studio and retailer data every seven days, it showcases current consumer enthusiasm for home viewing of the newest film and television releases.
