Some great news today for fans of the ‘Power’ TV franchise as Starz has now officially renewed the sequel series ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ for a second season.

The news on the sequel’s renewal isn’t surprising considering Starz reports that the premiere set multiple records for the premium service, making the quick renewal a logical move.

‘Power Book II: Ghost’ has aired three episodes from its debut season so far and continues the story set up in the popular series ‘Power’, following Tariq (with Michael Rainey Jr. reprising his role) as he tries to find his place in college while trying to get involved in the drug game as well in order to protect his imprisoned mother. The series features multiple characters from the original series reprising their roles, along with a few notable newcomers; the cast includes Michael Rainey Jr., Shane Johnson, Gianni Paolo, Mary J. Blige, Clifford “Method Man” Smith and Naturi Naughton along with more.

New episodes of ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ are currently airing Sunday nights at 8:pm, only on Starz.
