HARRY POTTER FILMS EMERGE, PLUS NEW TITLES IN THE LATEST DEG “WATCHED AT HOME TOP 20” LIST
This week on the DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group’s ‘‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list, three new titles join the chart: Guest House at No. 7, Superman: Man of Tomorrow at No. 12, and The Karate Kid at No. 14. The Top 5 titles remained unchanged for the third week, while Steve Carrell starrer Irresistible made the biggest chart progress, moving to No. 10 this week, from No. 19. While consumers kept the late Chadwick Boseman at No. 9 in 42, his Black Panther fell off the list this week. Meanwhile, fans doubled down on Harry Potter, with the Harry Potter: Complete 8-film Collection rising to No. 6, from No. 8 last week, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone making its independent debut at No. 13.
DEG compiles the ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list with the most widely consumed titles on disc and digital during the previous week (except for outside subscription-based streaming platforms). Assembled with the newest studio and retailer data every seven days, it showcases current consumer enthusiasm for home viewing of the newest film and television releases.
