Some disappointing news today for fans of the ‘Penny Dreadful’ prequel ‘Penny Dreadful: City of Angels’ as Showtime has now officially canceled the series after one season.

Serving as a prequel series to ‘Penny Dreadful’ which also aired on Showtime, ‘Penny Dreadful: City of Angels’ took place in 1938 Los Angeles as two detectives investigate a grisly murder that’s upset the town.

The official cancellation comes just shy of two months after the season one finale aired in late June.
