That lovable wisecracking Merc with a Mouth returns in his very first sequel! ‘Deadpool 2’ rejoins our (anti)hero Wade Wilson aka Deadpool (Reynolds) who has now begun making a real name for himself wasting baddies across the globe. But when events lead him to a darker place than ever before, he reluctantly joins the X-Men as an official trainee, but only a young mutant kid in need can truly help Wade get back to himself, especially when a deadly figure from the future named Cable (Brolin) mysteriously arrives on the scene intent on eliminating the boy at any cost for reasons unknown.

Directed this time around by David Leitch (Atomic Blonde, John Wick) from a screenplay by the returning duo of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who penned the first film, although this time co-written along with Ryan Reynolds (or at least with some contributions from), Leitch does a wonderful job at the helm of ‘Deadpool 2’ capturing the charm and tone of the original, while also doing an excellent job perfecting the action sequences. The film also owes a tremendous amount of credit to the talented and well selected cast comprised of numerous new and returning individuals to the series including Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War), Morena Baccarin (TV’s Gotham), Julian Dennison (Hunt for the Wilderpeople ), Zazie Beetz (TV’s Atlanta), T.J. Miller (TV’s Silicon Valley), Brianna Hildebrand (Tragedy Girls), Jack Kesy (TV’s Claws), Eddie Marsan (TV’s Ray Donovan) and many more, nearly all providing highly capable and spot-on performances in each of their respective roles whether large or small.

‘Deadpool 2’ is a vulgar, action-packed and massively entertaining good time. A hilarious and fast paced follow-up that only manages to outdo its predecessor in nearly every way, while also notably upping the ante when it comes to the action sequences but nonetheless managing to keep things largely down to earth and on a personal level at the same time. It’s an outstanding sequel that never disappoints along its thrilling course and is swiftly guided along by director David Leitch and of course tremendously complimented by the always undeniable charm of Ryan Reynolds who has thoroughly defined this role to say the very least, combined with some other returning faces in addition to some perfectly selected new ones including Josh Brolin who’s spot-on portrayal of Cable is simply magnificent, and the natural and always hilarious chemistry between Reynolds and Brolin easily manages to seal the deal. Any fan of the first film that hasn’t yet had the pleasure of ‘Deadpool 2’ will definitely want to make a point of rectifying that sooner than later, you’ll likely be beyond thrilled that you did.

Those specifically interested in the differences between the theatrical cut and the brand new Unrated ‘Super Duper $@%!#& Cut’ should be pleased to discover that this new unrated cut of the film includes approximately 15 additional minutes of new footage inserted throughout nearly the entire film resulting in some truly hilarious and well placed extensions to scenes, along with plenty of new quips from our babbling star. Perhaps even more surprising than so much extra content that’s actually worthwhile and spread throughout the whole movie as opposed to a useless scene addition or two like so many Unrated releases, this new cut of ‘Deadpool 2’ also goes one step further in switching up the fun by not only inserting new footage left and right, but additionally altering some footage from the R-rated theatrical cut; featuring entirely different lines and bits of dialogue throughout which really ends up helping to make this new ‘Super Duper $@%!#& Cut’ something special and definitely worthwhile for the fans.
