Synopsis:

Witness the founder of Apple like never before. Steve Jobs paints an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at the epicenter of the digital revolution, backstage in the final minutes before three iconic product launches.

The latest (and certainly most acclaimed) exploration of the life and work of talented Apple founder, ‘Steve Jobs’ (stunningly portrayed by Fassbender) takes three key promotional launches at very different points during Jobs’ life and career and follows the hectic final minutes prior to each presentation. Each time with mere minutes remaining every individual with a personal issue to confront Jobs over seem to suddenly arrive in unison, selecting those most stressful of moments to debate, argue and bring to the table every matter conceivable whether personal or professional.

Directed by the incredibly talented Danny Boyle (127 Hours, Sunshine) from a script by the equally talented screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, TV’s The Newsroom) which was based upon the novel by Walter Isaacson, Boyle does a phenomenal job at the helm of ‘Steve Jobs’ guiding this emotionally thrilling biography with perfection. Even with the talented hand of Boyle guiding the real life story from a powerful script, the film owes even more to the amazing and perfectly selected cast comprised here including Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, Jeff Daniels, Michael Stuhlbarg and many more, all of whom are outstanding in each of their respective roles, although Fassbender still easily manages to steal the show with his riveting portrayal of Jobs.

As opposed to following a more typical formula of Biography filmmaking such as a wide overview of an individual’s time or career, the filmmaking powerhouse team of Boyle and Sorkin instead opt to go against the grain with ‘Steve Jobs’ and make the wise decision to implement their own unique style focusing on three key yet very different points in Jobs’ life and career and succeeding admirably at managing to work the three segments together seamlessly through news footage and headlines and the final product is one truly magnificent film from a powerful and intensely emotional screenplay by Sorkin that is guided flawlessly by Boyle and exceeds to phenomenal with the mesmerizing performance by Michael Fassbender who is nearly unrecognizable as he fully embodies the persona of Jobs and plays off the talented supporting cast with vigor. ‘Steve Jobs’ is quite simply phenomenal and easily one of the very best films of 2015.

Overall, ‘Steve Jobs’ is biography filmmaking at its finest from the powerhouse duo of Director Danny Boyle and Writer Aaron Sorkin and featuring Michael Fassbender in a remarkable and nearly unrecognizable portrayal of the infamous tech genius during three key moments of his life. ‘Steve Jobs’ is undeniably one of the best films of last year and I would give it my highest recommendation, this is a truly phenomenal film that is not to be missed, you’ll definitely want to make certain to at least rent a copy of this one when you have the opportunity.
