Cyber security engineer by day and vigilante hacker by night, Elliot (Rami Malek, The Pacific) finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader of an underground hacker group (Christian Slater, Nymphomaniac) recruits him to destroy the firm he’s paid to protect. Compelled by his personal beliefs, Elliot struggles to resist the chance to take down the multinational CEOs he believes are running (and ruining) the world.

The debut season of the acclaimed new series ‘Mr. Robot’ primarily follows a young and awkward young computer hacker named Elliot (Malek) who by day works as a computer programmer protecting the virtual safety of others and by night hacks into the worlds of every friend and acquaintance he’s ever encountered, in addition to helping rid the world of some horrid individuals thanks to his unique talents. During a routine work task fighting a group of hackers trying to penetrate a clients system, Elliot finds himself being pulled into the dealings of a group of elite hackers led by the strange Mr. Robot (Slater) who with the assistance of Elliot intends to take down the biggest conglomerate in the world, igniting the biggest digital revolution in history.

‘Mr. Robot’ is downright fantastic and easily one of the best new shows of 2015. It takes an in depth at an alternate version of the world and the big city which in most ways mirrors our own with terrifying familiarity. Exploring intricate workings of the exceedingly terrifying technology that dominates and in many ways controls our lives and the corporate conglomerates that run it. Beautiful, mesmerizing and at times uncompromising, ‘Mr. Robot’ will pull you in and worm its way into your head just as a computer virus might.

Smart, well written and fast-paced, at times almost unbearably intense and boosted by terrific performances from Rami Malek, Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday, and a number more including Christian Slater who just won his first Golden Globe for his role in the series (the series itself also took home the award for ‘Best Drama Series’). I can’t possibly recommend ‘Mr. Robot’ highly enough. Anyone who appreciates quality television will definitely not want to miss out on this phenomenal series, it’s an absolute must see.
