The latest ‘LEGO-DC Super Heroes’ original animated movie begins following the recent forming of the Justice League, including such heroes as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash and newcomer Cyborg among its members. Furious by their inability to successfully accomplish any criminal activity as a result of the numerous heroes constantly ready to act against them, Lex Luthor and his cohorts arrive at the conclusion that the only chance they stand against the Justice League is by forming their own group of Super Villains to counteract them. After conducting tryouts and selecting their latest editions, the newly formed ‘Legion of Doom’ is read to get attack, let’s just hope that our heroes in the Justice League are up to the challenge.
In addition to providing a kid-friendly and entirely inoffensive new action-packed original animated movie, ‘Lego DC Super Heroes: Justice League – Attack of the Legion of Doom!’ also takes itself far less seriously than the majority of the animated DC outings, even the fellow DC Kids titles. This is certainly not a fault, instead allowing the film to utilize the Lego characters in order to create another universe of the DC Animated world that is far more light hearted and best described as just plain fun, sure to produce a few giggles even from the adult audience.
Hardcore DC and Lego fans, along with the households containing young Lego and DC fans will almost surely want to make certain to pick up a copy of the ‘Lego DC Super Heroes: Justice League – Attack of the Legion of Doom!’ Blu-Ray release. The Blu-Ray delivers impressive high definition video and audio presentations that are sure to keep kids of all ages entertained as they relive this fun little adventure time and again. For the older and kid-free DC fans, you may want to rent this one prior to picking up your copy of the Blu-Ray just to be safe as it is vastly different than the majority of DC Animated entries, although certainly not in a negative way; it’s quite a bit of fun and certainly worth checking out.
The Blu-Ray release of ‘Lego DC Super Heroes: Justice League – Attack of the Legion of Doom!’ features a full 1080p High Definition presentation utilizing the film’s original 1.78:1 Aspect Ratio. The video presentation looks pretty great as a whole. There is some mild noticeable banding on occasion, yet it looks fantastic in every other aspect, delivering a rich, and detailed presentation with beautifully vivid colors throughout. Overall, this is a pretty solid high definition video presentation that should easily please most fans.
The Blu-Ray release features a lossless 5.1 channel DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack. This is another aggressive and solid lossless multichannel soundtrack which continues to help elevate these animated features to a more professional scope in the audio department. It utilizes all five available channels quite frequently in order to surround the viewer with any number of action-oriented auditory effects suitable to any given scene, while never resulting in any dialogue which may be occurring simultaneously to become negatively affected or rendered inaudible. Overall, this is an impressive 5.1 channel DTS-HD MA soundtrack that contributes even more fun to this enjoyable animated feature.
The Blu-Ray release of ‘Lego DC Super Heroes: Justice League – Attack of the Legion of Doom!’ doesn’t include much in the way of bonus content, although it does include one nice extra. The sole extra included on the release is a Featurette titled ‘Click, Zap, Boom! Creating the Sound Design’ which runs just shy of 20 minutes in length and includes members of the creative team discussing the complex process of creating the sound design for the movie.
