Synopsis:
U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens is a modern day 19th century-style lawman, enforcing his brand of justice in a way that puts a target on his back with criminals and places him at odds with his bosses in the Marshal service. That conflict results in a reassignment for Givens to the U.S. District covering the town where he grew up. He is an anachronism – a tough, soft spoken gentleman who finds his quarry fascinating, but never gives an inch. Dig under his placid skin and you’ll find an angry man who grew up hard in rural Kentucky, with an outlaw father, who knows a lot more about who he doesn’t want to be than who he really is.
The fifth season of ‘Justified’ brings things to a new level of intensity and mayhem, as even before the official announcement that the sixth season would be the show’s last, it was starting to become quite apparent that things were heading towards an end game. By the end of the fifth season there is no question of the matter whatsoever. While I won’t go into details regarding how this season wraps out of courtesy for those who might not yet have finished or seen the season in its entirety, I will simply say that a lot of elements that imply the end of the road nearing are certainly presented.
This season also ups the ante on the action as well as the body count as things start to build to a boiling point on all ends, with Rayan and his fellow Marshall’s in more heat than ever before, to Boyd surrounded by enemies on all sides and Eva in prison with no release currently in sight. As if that wasn’t enough already, a whole group of new Crowe’s from Florida appear, led by the dangerous and motivated Daryl Crowe Jr. (portrayed by Michael Rapaport) whose arrival in town results in a whole new mass of trouble on all ends, both legit and criminal. In addition to Michael Rapaport, Season Five also includes guest star roles by Alicia Witt, Mary Steenburgen and more and is definitely not a season to be missed.
