[Best Of 2020] The Top 10 Films Of 2020 (Kevin Lovell)
It’s that time again, although this year has certainly been drastically unlike any other in recent memory and the world of film has been changed dramatically to accommodate the lack of theaters open. Fortunately, while there may have been significantly fewer big blockbusters than usual seeing a release this year, there was still no shortage of great films released during 2020 in one way or another. As is usually the case, there are many that I haven’t yet had the pleasure to check out, but based on what I’ve seen over the year I’ve once again compiled the ten best films of the year in my opinion. Welcome back to another edition of our weekly DEG Most Watched At Home Top 20 List posts, keeping you updated on all of the most popular movies watched at home during this secluded time where the majority of theaters remain shuttered, and hopefully providing some noteworthy ideas for your home enjoyment. The new list from the Digital Entertainment Group also notes historic Quarter One numbers for home entertainment which isn’t entirely surprising in our current climate. This week’s DEG Top 20 List for May 7, 2020 sees ‘Bad Boys For Life’ still holding onto the top spot, while ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ dropped from second to third place as ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ races into the number two spot for the week. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced and detailed their home entertainment releases of the long-awaited sequel ‘Bad Boys For Life’ starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The film will be available to own early on Digital next week beginning March 31, followed by the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD releases on April 21, 2020.
