[Blu-Ray Review] Looney Tunes: Collector’s Vault Volume 1; Available June 17, 2025 From Warner Archive 2

‘Looney Tunes: Collector’s Vault Volume 1’ takes viewers back in time yet again with a wide array of animated favorites including classic appearances from Bugs, Daffy, Porky and more, as well as featuring the first ever appearances of Speedy Gonzales , Pepe Le Pew and Daffy Duck, not to mention some of the more unique story-centered tales from the earlier years such as ‘A Day at the Zoo’ and ‘I’d Love to Take Orders From You’ which are great to see remastered in all of their glory after so many years. Some of the shorts included within are of course products of their time and bits of content may be mildly offensive or inappropriate in today’s world, yet that just makes it so much more rewarding to see the Warner Archive Collection continue to release gems like this in their original, uncut form. It’s a solid collection of fun shorts with tons of familiar faces and some less familiar ones, yet all keep the fun and humor moving along at full looney speed.

[Blu-Ray Review] Looney Tunes: Collector’s Vault Volume 1; Available June 17, 2025 From Warner Archive 4

Overall, ‘Looney Tunes: Collector’s Vault Volume 1’ offers a delightful new collection of classic animated shorts from the expansive library that should have no trouble whatsoever slapping a smile on the face of fans and keeping it there. Featuring 50 animated shorts in glorious HD for the first time spread between two discs. Some of the included toons may be slightly more impressive when it comes to quality than others, yet they all hold up remarkably well and each look and sound better than ever before. All fifty shorts are included in full high definition and look anywhere from very good to absolutely stunning, while dual mono DTS-HD MA soundtracks perfectly complement them on top of the notable new video presentations. If you’re a dedicated Looney Tunes fan then you’ve probably already secured your copy of this Blu-ray set and if you haven’t but are considering a purchase, then rest assured that this one is a definite treat and highly recommended.

VIDEO:

The Blu-ray release of ‘Looney Tunes: Collector’s Vault Volume 1’ features a full 1080p High Definition presentation on all 50 animated shorts newly remastered and presented in their original 1.33:1 Aspect Ratio. The video presentations look very good as a whole, especially when taking into account the age of many of these animated shorts (a handful of which were released as early as the 1930’s) and while some may unsurprisingly be slightly sharper, more grain-heavy or more appropriately filmic than others, they all look incredibly nice in their own right and easily better than they ever have previously. Overall, these are solid to tremendous video presentations that should all easily excite fans.

AUDIO:

The Blu-ray release includes a 2.0 dual mono DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack on all 50 included shorts. These dual mono DTS-HD MA soundtracks do a nice job of juggling the audio elements within and each sounds quite stellar for their age and source. Everything is clean, crisp and well balanced and all auditory content from dialogue to effects and music sound generally clean, sharp and always fully audible throughout; never resulting in any simultaneously occurring audio elements becoming jumbled or rendered problematic along the way. Overall, these are great 2.0 dual mono DTS-HD MA soundtracks that do their job very well and should not disappoint.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

The Blu-ray release of ‘Looney Tunes: Collector’s Vault Volume 1’ does not include any bonus content.
