Welcome back to another new installment of our weekly ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20’ list posts where we continue to keep you updated with all of the most popular movies and television shows watched at home each week, always compiled and released by the Digital Entertainment Group.
This week’s new ‘DEG Watched at Home Top 20’ list for January 20, 2022 (compiled of data for the week ended 1.15.22) sees the new ‘Dune‘ film directed by Denis Villeneuve hit the list in the top spot, while last week’s first place title ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ drops one spot into second. Meanwhile, ‘Yellowstone: Season 4’ holds steady in third for another week, while ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage‘ drops from second last week into fourth this time, followed by ‘No Time To Die‘ which also falls one spot into fifth to round out the top five. Sci-fi Epic ‘Dune’ Takes Top Spot;
Scares ‘Ghostbusters’ Down to No. 2
Five new titles join the Watched at Home Top 20 this week, led by science fiction epic Dune in the No. 1 spot. Other crowd-pleasing movies charting: Halloween Kills at No. 6; and family films Clifford the Big Red Dog and Encanto at No. 15 and No. 18; respectively. TV’s A Discovery of Witches S2 slipped in at No. 20. Meanwhile, the Ghostbusters franchise continued to haunt the ranking, with new Ghostbusters: Afterlife dropping down to No. 2 and the classic 3-Movie Collection moving up seven places to No. 10.
DEG compiles the ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list with the most widely consumed titles on disc and digital during the previous week (except for outside subscription-based streaming platforms). Assembled with the newest studio and retailer data every seven days, it showcases current consumer enthusiasm for home viewing of the newest film and television releases.
